In early March 2024 I traveled to Kumasi Ghana to work with the Technical Training Center at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The training center is located in the heart of Swame Magazine, the largest informal manufacturing sector in Ghana, and since the founding, they have been training artisans on the use of machine tools like mills and lathes. Their next major push is to bring CNC technology to promote smart manufacturing in local industry.

My roll was to help the staff at TCC to get their first CNC mill and lathe operational and begin training the staff in CAD/CAM and CNC using Autodesk Fusion. The first workshop was only a week, but though remote classes and future trips, I plan to play an ongoing roll in the development of a robust CNC training curriculum.
